Thanks so much Allister - Daintree Experience for an absolutely wonderful experience!!. The hike to a truly beautiful waterfall through the rainforest was fantastic and the seafood lunch followed by a swim in a secluded river in the rainforest was also an absolute highlight. Thanks also for your guiding, camaraderie, knowledge of the Daintree that made for an unforgettable overall experience for both of us .

A great day in the Daintree

The tour incorporated places which aren’t on the normal tourist route, in the morning a walk to a waterfall, the tour guide gave us a real insight about the local fauna & flora, There was plenty of time to stop and take it all in. We had lunch in Mossman then a Croc tour in the afternoon, so plenty of variety, a great day.

A great day out with a mix of activities to provide an amazing overview of the Daintree. The hike was a great way to connect to the diverse and historical nature of the Daintree and Allister provided us with some great information, followed by a delicious lunch and refreshing swim in the creek. We loved the stop at Daintree ice cream and strolling around all the fruit trees. A great thing about this tour is Allisters style of allowing you to go at your pace to ensure you enjoy every part of the experience and get the most out of it. Highly recommend this more personalised tour. Thanks so much Allister

A really enjoyable small group tour led by local guide Allister. Spectacular waterfalls and a very interesting walk up to them, with an informative chat about the local flora. Allister took the hike at a pace that suited everyone and followed it with some treats - a dip in the creek, tasty lunch, a walk along the beach and a visit to get a very yummy ice cream, along with truly remarkable experiences- seeing cassowaries close up! It was great to get to know the others in the tour as well.

Allister was a delightful host, really knew his stuff and was interesting to listen to. The small group made
it more relaxing as we were never around crowds. We even managed to see a Cassowary with 3
chicks! All together a great day out which we would highly recommend.

Had an AWESOME day out with Allister, the hike up to Fossil Falls was amazing. Enjoyed a swim in crystal clear water hole before an enjoyable lunch stop. Keep your eyes open as we were lucky enough to see a Cassowary. A stroll along Thornton beach and finished the day with a trip to the Daintree ice cream company. Allister is very knowledgeable of the area and is great company, I would highly recommend booking with Daintree Experience, you will not be disappointed.

Best of the Daintree
Tripadvisor review: Best of the Daintree ~ Where the Rainforest meets the Reef, Beach, Fruit Tasting
The whole experience was more than we had hoped. Alistair had listened to what we wanted to see and tailored a tour to meet that. Each element was a delight, showing us the varied vegetation and vistas of the Daintree, from lookouts to beach, forest walks to mangrove boardwalks. And it was the latter that provided the highlight of the day. It was low tide and as we walked along, a beautiful, tall, colourful Cassowary emerged from the trees. She was splendid and walked quite close to the boardwalk. Yes it was lucky, but such a joy. Alistair was knowledgeable and great company, and the walking was all very manageable. Lunch and refreshments were provided in beautiful settings throughout the day. We had a wonderful experience and would rate his tour highly. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

Enchanting forest experience

We wanted to visit Daintree forest during our honeymoon in Australia. We had a wonderful time with
Allister hiking waterfalls in the forest, taking a swim in one of the local creeks, and visiting Thornton
Beach. Don’t miss the local homemade ice cream on the way back home. Highly recommended!!!

Avoid the crowds and do this tour!

If you love avoiding crowds, like to see the rainforest at your own pace, and don't mind climbing up and over a few rocks, you will absolutely love this tour.
Allister is the perfect guide, warm, friendly and makes a great cuppa with water from the rainforest.
There is not a set path up to the waterfall, so you are climbing up and over rocks, under fallen trees and over the river bed. This is half the fun. It rained the day we went, but this created a mist over the water - which was quite mystical. Wear a good pair of shoes, take a change of clothes - and don't wear white shorts!
We felt privileged to see a Cassowary with 3 babies on the way to the waterfall and a large family of pigs, including baby piglets mid hike up to the waterfall.
Lunch (after a swim) is fabulous - good size and freshly cooked. Once again, away from the busy crowds, which we loved. We had our own private space looking over the water hole. Bliss!
Don't forget to stop and have the Daintree ice-cream. It is the best I have ever had.

This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had!!!
Alister was an unbelievable tour guide and we felt we got such an authentic and unique experience that you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. The hike was gorgeous and really immersive in nature and Alister was incredibly knowledgeable about everything - we learned so much and had the best time spending the day with him.
It was amazing to be able to do this in a small group environment rather than crammed in a tour bus with strangers, truly cannot recommend this tour enough!
If you’re looking for a perfect day where you will immerse in nature, learn all about the Daintree history and surrounding vegetation, eat yummy food and explore this is the tour for you!

Great tour for keen hikers

Lovely hike that’s a bit more challenging than the standard tours and good conversations with Allister! It was interesting to learn a little about the fauna and flora of the rainforest. The lunch was super tasty (fish) and the swim in the creek was very refreshing after the hike. Plus the water was so clear! All in all a perfect day out! Would recommend 10/10 times!
Also spotted a crocodile while on the ferry on the way over.

A brilliant day out. Alister was a great guide, happy to share his local knowledge. The hike to the waterfall was spectacular. There was plenty of time for photos and to explore the diverse landscape. It was great to do a tour that was a little off the beaten track and we were so lucky to be the only two guests the day we did the tour. Lunch too was excellent in a beautiful setting. A stroll on Thornton Beach and an ice cream to round out the day.
We also spotted a cassowary and his babies on the way there! So lucky.

Booked this tour in with my wife who I've done several tours with around the world. We both agreed that this was the best tour guide we've ever had. The tour itself was excellent. We loved the hike and waterfall, which had an extremely private feel about it. Got to enjoy a cup of tea under the waterfall using a hidden treasure chest to prepare it (trust me, you'll love it). Then off for a swim in an excellent and fresh spot before a great hot lunch. We then went to a beautiful and quite beach before stopping off for ice cream on the way home, which was amazing. All of this on a very private tour with a charismatic and friendly tour guide who honestly felt like a great friend who was enjoying the day with us. Amazing!

Great experience! Climbing up to a waterfall with a cup of tea waiting, down to a beautiful swim spot with hot lunch, a walk along the beach, topped off with a quick stop for ice cream. Allister is a fun, conversational and informative guide. Would recommend to solo travellers and anyone who doesn’t like bus tours visiting mainstream spots.

Allister was the ideal guide to take us through the beautiful Daintree. We were looking for a tour that would give us a deeper understanding of the rainforest ecosystem and biodiversity of the Daintree Region, and not a large bus tour covering tourist spots. We were not disappointed! Allister was brilliantly knowledgeable, easy to talk to and ask questions and patient. Highlights were a cup of tea up on the waterfall, a refreshing swim in a hidden swimming hole we’d not have been able to access otherwise, and a walk along the beach where the river meets the ocean. If you want an immersive experience into this incredible prehistoric rainforest, this one is the one.
